Who has the best burgers, and why? Personally I love a good slider, but I'm willing to take a look at any style. Also, where are some good happy hour deals?

Detroit's Best Sliders can be found at the Hunter House in Harmony Park. There are two restaurants at the Hunter House. One upscale the other for more the burger and beer crowd.
You will not be disappointed regardless of the time of year.
Also, a great palce on Wednesday's is Screwie Louies in Taylor. Along the Allen Park/Taylor border. It's on Allen Road. $1.00 fat burgers. You might even run into Aaron Ward there.

My favorite place for a great burger is The Red Coat Tavern on Woodward Avenue, just north of 13 Mile.
If you pine for nostalgia, then Duggan's on Woodward Avenue has the famous Big Chief burger that was sold by The Totem Pole Restaurant during the hey-day of cruising' Woodward. You went to Ted's Drive In at Square Lake and Woodward or Totem at about 10 Mile and Woodward.
Downtown, my favorite burger is at The Post Bar across from Cobo Hall.
And if you like sliders, then The Hunter House at 15 Mile (Maple) on Woodward beats all the rest.

Grew up in Detroit but moved away 7 years ago. When I was there in downtown Detroit CHECKERS BAR was the best burger place. Not sure if it's still around...but I think so.
