Question:
Are there any really exotic foods served in the Detroit, Mi area?

I don't mean a rainforest cafe. I want a place that has rattle snake on the menu, or some bbq'ed grasshoppers. Anything most people would think twice about eating. Please avoid "well there was a fly in my food at...." type comments. The weirder the better.

Try going to the Korea House restaurant in Farmington MI. They have a dried minnow that they serve that many have a hard time eating whole.

I have not found "exotic" yet, Loon River has some game, Pho Nang at 14 and Dequindre has some unique eats, and the market next door has some really strange things to look at. I can spend some time just looking at the meat counter and the frozen "fish-like" things. My advice, ask the people that are buying as I picked up a new recipe: fresh shrimp sauteed in 7-up..yeah, the pop.

Beaver Creek in Westland has buffalo meatloaf and burgers, quail, and wild boar sausage.

They serve muskrat in the bars, like Kola's Kitchen in Wyandotte, but I think only during Lent.

Fishbones has deep fried alligator bites as an appetizer.

You can't beat the Japanese/sushi places for octopus and squid.
